A pair of mountain climbers attempted the spectacular feat of climbing France and Switzerland’s highest peaks.
Bernhard Hug and Tony Sbalbi ascended the Dufourspitze, the highest peak of Mount Rosa, in the Swiss Alps. They also ascended Mont Blanc, in France, but Sbalbi stopped to rest beforehand and joined Hug later.
They did it all on skis. At some points they rested. At other points they marched forward, whether day or night. Hug, who completed the entire journey, reported that it took 50 hours.
