Small Farmers Balancing Costs and Prices

Inflation is hitting everyone, including small farmers who sell at farmers’ markets. They’re getting burned at both ends, their costs are rising—but it’s hard to pass on the costs to consumers; farmers are competing with grocery stores, which sell vegetables much cheaper. We visited a Chicago farmers market, which just kicked off the first day of its 2022 season.
