Snake snatches a boy’s freshly-caught fish and runs away with it

A young fisherman got the surprise of his life when a snake stole his catch and slithered away with it.

The garter snake can be seen holding a perch in its mouth and heading off into the long grass.

The boy can be heard saying in the video: ‘It’s taken our perch’.

He adds: ‘Holy cow!.’

After a while the snake drops the fish onto the floor and slithers off without it, leaving the youngster to pick up the lifeless perch.

Cindy can be heard telling her son to quickly put it back in the water, but at this point it doesn’t look promising for the fish.

The youngster then goes down to the water’s edge and releases the perch– which, rather remarkably – swims off immediately.

The video concludes with the youngster instructing his mum to stick the clip on YouTube.

Cindy later wrote online: ‘My son caught a little perch, reeled it up to the shore and as it flopped around, it unhooked itself.

‘The snake ended up dropping the fish and we were able to get it back in the water.’

Since it was uploaded to YouTube the clip has received a number of comments.

Zilla wrote: ‘I’m glad your passing on not only a good hobby but good morals to your kids, keep it up.’

While Piona wrote: ‘Taking away poor snakies dinner! How heartless!’
