Controversial Instagram star Victoria Waldrip — better known as Whoa Vicky — was arrested on Saturday, Feb. 24, in relation to an incident at the Four Seasons Mall in North Carolina that sparked the false reporting of an active shooter.
Waldrip, 17, of Marietta, Georgia, was arrested and charged with trespassing, assaulting an officer and resisting, and delaying or obstructing an officer, reported WFMY.
Greensboro police said the incident began when Waldrip refused to leave the mall after police officers and mall security asked her to leave multiple times.
Waldrip then started to resist arrest and kicked an officer. During the chaos, someone yelled that there were shots fired which caused further panic throughout the mall, reported the news station.
“[S]everal other juveniles inside the mall began running around and screaming. As all that was transpiring an unidentified individual shouted something about shots being fired and panic ensued throughout the mall. GPD received multiples calls of shots fired and/or an active shooter in the mall,” the police spokesperson told the gossip website The Blast.
The spokesperson said officers were able to confirm that there were no shots fired at all within a minute or less, reported the website.
Videos of the incident were uploaded to Waldrip’s Instagram account and shows police officers wrestling the 17-year-old onto the ground in order to restrain her before taking her away.
Waldrip first became well known in July last year when she controversially claimed that she was actually black, reported MailOnline.
The blonde-hair teen claimed that she had a DNA test to prove her ethnicity. Since then, she has been regularly posting pictures and videos on social media of her speaking in an “urban accent,” repeatedly saying the N-word, and doing things she believes represent a black culture, according to the news website.
