Dozens of police officers from the Solomon Islands have flown to China for a training session. The South Pacific island nation said Tuesday that it would cover policing techniques.
The training will bring 32 officers to China for a month, where they’ll visit various police stations.
Earlier this month, Chinese police gave a separate training to a local police force in the Solomon Islands.
The trainings are part of a security pact the two countries signed earlier this year.
The agreement sparked concerns in the United States and Australia, which traditionally provided policing support in the strategically important region.
