South Korea expects high turnout for presidential election

South Korea’s presidential election on May 9 may have the highest turnout in 30 years. The nation’s presidential office is currently vacant. Former President Park Geun-hye was impeached.

There are over 13,000 voting stations nationwide, with voters choosing between 13 presidential candidates.

The newly elected president will immediately be in office to start his or her 5-year term. Liberal candidate Moon Jae-in is predicted to win.
