Spacecraft sends back images from close encounter with Saturn

A NASA spacecraft is sending back images from the space between Saturn and its innermost ring. It’s the closest a spacecraft has ever been to the sixth planet from the sun. The Cassini spacecraft has been monitoring Saturn for 13 years from nearby.

It will attempt 21 more close dives within the inner ring. On the last dive it will fly into Saturn’s atmosphere, as it runs out of fuel and meets its demise.
