A shooting at an Irish pub in Southeast Texas left one woman killed and another victim injured, authorities said.
The shooting happened Tuesday night on St. Patrick’s Day at Molly’s Irish Sports Pub in Corpus Christi.
One suspect has been arrested after “a brief foot chase,” police spokesman Travis Pace said.
Authorities did not immediately release the identity of the suspect, but Pace said he is facing most likely charges of murder and aggravated assault, The Associated Press reported.
The deceased woman was found dead inside the pub with a gun wound in her torso, according to the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.
Additional information on the wounded victim was not provided by officials.
Officers investigating the homicide interviewed multiple witnesses who identified the suspect, Pace said.
Corpus Christi is a coastal city in the Southeast Texas region. Unlike other major cities in Texas, Corpus Christi has not shut down its bars or restaurants amid concerns over the novel coronavirus.
So far, Corpus Christi authorities have only issued orders limiting the number of people allowed at private and public gatherings to curb the potential spread of the virus, DFW11 reported.
