Residents in St. Petersburg paid tribute to the 11 victims of the April 3 subway blast at a makeshift memorial.

Arsen Bogdano, a St. Petersburg resident, said, “I really hope that such events will help all of us—not only people in Russia but around the whole world—to understand that we should remain human, to encourage humanity inside ourselves, not being animalistic and not to treat each other like wild animals.”

Dozens of injured remain in hospital for treatment.

Psychological support is being provided to those affected, according to a National Anti-Terrorism Committee official.

The blast tore through a train car in one of the city’s subway tunnels.

Russian Interfax news reported that a suicide bomber is suspected to be responsible for the deadly blast. The terrorist has links with radical Islamist groups banned in Russia.

Remains found at the scene of the explosion confirm the suggestion that a suicide bomber was involved.

Further investigations and DNA tests are being conducted.
