A judge in Hawaii has issued a ruling blocking President Trump’s second executive order on immigration. The the block came a day before the order was to go into effect on March 16th. Another judge in Maryland reached the same conclusion hours later. Several other states have also joined efforts to block the order in the courts.
The new executive order was a watered down version of the first order. It would have banned immigration from six “countries of concern,” and put a temporary halt on the US refugee program.
