A hot-dog seller in Stockholm, Sweden, narrowly escaped death.

Last Friday began as a normal day for Gilberto Rodriguez. He was selling hot dogs at his usual corner near a department store downtown. In the afternoon, he took a short break and wandered away from his stand. His break would save his life.

Moments later a truck plowed into the street, killing four people and injuring 15 more.

The truck missed the hot-dog stand by inches.

“I heard the truck coming and many people scream and my colleague called me and told me to come back quickly and when I came back I was looking for my colleague because I was scared something had happened to him,” said Rodriguez.

Swedish police suspect it was a terrorist attack by a failed asylum seeker.

Rodriguez returned to work on Monday. Next to him was a large mound of flowers. They were laid in memory of the victims.

He said though he was shaken by the experience, he must move on with life.

“I believe that in Sweden there are strong people and I am strong too and have to continue working, for life goes on,” he said.
