Protests outside Columbia University Wednesday afternoon came in response to the university president’s hearing before Congress, where she acknowledged anti-Semitism is on the rise at the institution.
Nationwide, nearly 9,000 anti-Semitic incidents were reported in 2023, according to the Jewish advocacy group Anti-Defamation League—a 140 percent increase from 2022. Jewish students say they are feeling the pressure.
