Study: Visa Limits Spurred Worker Shortage

Help wanted signs, we’ve seen them plastered on storefronts across America, and never seen so many reported job openings. People have blamed the worker shortage or talent shortage on different things, generous unemployment benefits, parents staying home to look after kids during lockdowns. However as unemployment ended and schools and daycare reopened, the talent shortage didn’t go away. NTD spoke to author and hiring consultant Ira Wolf and UC Davis economics professor Giovanni Peri about what the causes could be.
