When surfing on Hawaii is just too mainstream, go to Portugal and conquer these freak waves

The Portuguese city of Nazare, facing the Atlantic Ocean, is not a spot where you should learn surfing.

It’s a spot where even the best surfers in the world will be tested to their limits. Some of these freak waves are reported to be 100 ft (30 m) tall.

Just to get a little perspective, this is as high as a ten-story-house… The huge waves and surfers create quite an amazing scene and get a lot of spectators.

In fact it is so impressive, we’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story. Can you spot all five surfers? If you need help, we marked the position of the surfers in the pics below the video.
