Two people suspected of kidnapping 17-year-old Trynytee Case of Arkansas near her workplace in downtown Hot Springs earlier this week were taken into custody on Tuesday, authorities say.
The Hot Springs Police Department announced in an April 20 press release that Tennessee natives Samuel Wayne Bolling, 38, of Nashville and Dayla Diane Ferrer, 19, of Memphis were arrested without further incident at approximately 5:52 p.m. on Tuesday.
Both suspects are facing charges that include kidnapping and aggravated robbery, as well as false imprisonment and battery in the first degree, jail records show.
“Bolling and Ferrer are currently being held at the Garland County Detention Centre with zero bond,” per the release.
Case, who was at the center of an Amber Alert, was located on Central Avenue in Hot Springs at approximately 3:22 p.m. on April 19 with minor injuries. She was transported to a local hospital for medical assessment.
Omar Cervantes, a local police officer 1st class, told The Sentinel-Record that the victim is doing fine and authorities conducted interviews to further the investigation.
“They’ve got her, so we’re going to obviously cancel the Amber Alert,” Cervantes said. “The case is still ongoing and we’re going to get her and get some interviews and make sure we can resolve this whole thing. As of right now, we just want everyone to know she is safe; we’ve got her.”
On Tuesday, Arkansas State Police issued a statewide Amber Alert for Case, a student at Cutter Morning Star High School who worked at “Pour Some Sugar on Me Bakery.” Detectives found she disappeared late on Monday while leaving the bakery located in Hot Springs.
Police said Case was leaving work on Monday at around 9:15 p.m. when she was allegedly kidnapped by a female stranger, who later demanded $10,000 for her return, FOX 13 reported.
Case and a co-worker were walking toward their car after finishing work when they were approached by a female stranger, believed to be Ferrer, who explained she was lost and asked them if she could use a cell phone to use GPS coordinates.
During this time, Case’s co-worker said she would already move on to get her car from a nearby lot so they could go home together, but after she returned to pick up Case, her student-colleague was nowhere to be found.
The co-worker panicked and immediately called Case’s mother, who then called her daughter.
After several attempts, she managed to reach her daughter who said, “everything is fine,” before a man got on the call and demanded $10,000 for her return, or they would kill and cut up Case.
Police managed to ping the victim’s phone and discovered that she was seen heading to south Hot Springs before finding her safe.
