The Swedish Royal Palace announced on Thursday (March 23) that Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia are expecting their second child in September.

Their son Alexander, who is fifth in line to the throne after Crown Princess Victoria, her children Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, and his father, was born in April last year.

“We are happy to announce that we are expecting a child, a sibling to Prince Alexander. We are looking forward to welcoming a new little member to our family,” Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia said in the statement.

Prince Carl Philip married former model Sofia in 2015.

According to the palace statement, there will be no changes to the couple’s public schedules during the spring and summer.
