A scared Golden Retriever panics during her rescue. Her reaction upon being saved is amazing!

Clarabelle is one of the many lost or abandoned dogs that are rescued every year. She is a beautiful Golden Retriever who wandered aimlessly lost and afraid far from home. The Hope For Paws Animal Rescue bring cameras along on rescue missions to document what hopefully turns out to be a success story for their organization. Unfortunately, not all stories have a happy ending.

This was their 5th attempt to rescue Clarabelle, who had managed to escape the captors she had no idea were trying to help her. She was so frightened she would hide under the parked semi-truck’s, away from anything she perceived as threatening.

The two rescuers had to team up to corner Clarabelle and patiently calmed her as best they could before being able to stretch a harness over her head. Clarabelle, unsure of what was going on or what to do, rolled on her back and covered her face with her paws.

If these Los Angeles heroes could rescue Clarabelle, she may have a chance at adoption. The homeless, abused, stray, and abandoned dog population in Los Angeles number well over 300,000.

She was so afraid, but after some time building some trust, they were able to push and pull Clarabelle out from under her harbor of safety.

Once brought into the light, the eyes tell the whole story.

A little more time brought a little more trust and Clarabelle experienced the first hug she had received in a long time from Hope For Paws rescuer, Eldad.

Her other rescuer, Lisa, brought her back to the shelter for some groomin’ and some lovin’.

Sweet Clarabelle was saved, and was eventually adopted to her forever home. Man’s best friend finally found the home she deserved.
