Taipei fans celebrate Star Wars Day

Star Wars Day brings out heroes, villains, and creatures of all types. The celebration in Taipei is action-packed, full of fans who want to celebrate together, and battle it out with lightsabers.

“There are activities about ‘Star Wars’ all over the world today, because it is ‘Star Wars Day’ today. We are going to have dozens of fans here. (The exterior of) this building includes a huge globe. For us, this represents the Death Star. We are going to take photos under the Death Star. This is the main theme of our event today. We are celebrating this day, full of ‘The Force,’” said Tsai Rong-chou, organizer of “Star Wars Day” in Taiwan.

Taipei fans celebrate the day just as celebrations all over the world are underway. The 40-year-old Star Wars franchise has inspired legions of fans across the world. The next Star Wars movie, “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” comes out in December.
