Taiwan Election Result Brings Positive Outlook For US-Taiwan Trade

A recent landslide victory for Taiwan’s reelected president represents a strong pushback against Beijing’s encroachment on the island’s right to self-govern.

But aside from implications for Beijing and Taipei, experts say the reelection also brings a positive outlook for U.S.-Taiwan relations, including a potential free-trade agreement.

Taiwan is currently the 11th largest trading partner with the United States.
