Taiwan is preparing for a possible Chinese invasion by making sure all essentials are in stock.
Taiwan’s Deputy Economy Minister Chen Chern-chyi said Wednesday that the island is ramping up its stockpiling efforts after a slowdown due to the pandemic.
Some companies are already required by law to maintain energy stockpiles, including state-run electric company Taipower and state-owned gas company CPC Corp.
The economy ministry said Taiwan is closely collaborating with allies to prevent loopholes in export controls.
