Taiwan, US in Talks for $500 Million Military Package

Taiwan’s defense minister said on Monday, that Taiwan is “in talks” with the Biden administration about a fast-tracked $500 million weapons package from the U.S. The talks began this January.

The defense minister told Taiwanese lawmakers the focus of the deal is sending weapons to Taiwan from the US’ existing stockpiles. This is to make up for previous delays.
