The April 18 tax-filing deadline is coming up. However, taxpayers in states hit hard by disasters have more time to file. New York, for example, pushed its deadline back to mid-May. In Mississippi, where a lot of tornadoes hit recently, they have until the end of July, and all the storms and mudslides in California mean that the deadline there has been reset to mid-October. NTD speaks to Joel Griffith, a research fellow at the Institute for Economic Policy Studies at The Heritage Foundation, for some tax tips.
