One technology company is making VR visits to North Korea possible.
Marcus Olsson took his 360-degree video camera with him on a trip to Pyongyang, North Korea. He compiled the footage into a virtual reality experience.
It is most people’s only way to see North Korea. Policies prohibit most people from leaving or entering the country, unless by special invitation.
But even this VR footage is severely limited. North Korea only allows those rare visitors to travel through areas and places it approves of. It avoids regions of reported severe poverty, starvation, human rights abuses, and slave labor.
