Tests begin for intercontinental ballistic missile defense

The U.S. military is testing an ICBM defense system. The system will prevent attacks from long-range missiles. Intercontinental ballistic missiles can be intercepted

by the ground-based Midcourse Defense interceptor..

This would protect the United States from North Korea.

The system is located in California, facing the Pacific.
