Texas Immigration Law Not Directly Preempted by Federal Authority: Legal Expert

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito extended a temporary pause on the Texas law SB4, which would have granted state law enforcement authority to arrest individuals suspected of illegally crossing the U.S.–Mexico border. The Biden administration argued that the law violated the Constitution and federal authority over immigration. Texas says it’s necessary.
