MP Materials and Lynas: the two largest rare mining companies outside of China are struggling to turn rock from their mines into the building blocks for magnets, which are used in everything from iPhones to Teslas.
China has a dominating hand over rare Earth materials and in July they imposed export controls on gallium and germanium.
