William Wolfe served as a senior official in the Trump administration, both as a deputy assistant secretary of defense at the Pentagon and a director of legislative affairs at the Department of State. Previously, he worked for Heritage Action for America. Wolfe plans to focus on Christian ethics and public theology, enter pastoral ministry, and engage at the intersection of faith and politics, cultural commentary, and Christian worldview issues.

At the 2022 National Conservatism Conference, Wolfe spoke on the topic “A Christian Case for an ‘America First’ Government.”

NTD caught up with him on the sidelines of the event.

“So if we live in a country where they’re trying to get everyone to believe that the government is the one who gives them their rights, and cares for them, and provides for them, and we as Christians come along and say, ‘No, our rights come from God, we should have the ability to be self-governed, we should have the right to pursue liberty and to have freedom of worship,’ that’s a threat to those who want to have a totalitizing control of the state.”
