The Nation Speaks (March 27): Vaccine Passport Rabbit Hole; Hospitals Slow-Walk New Pricing Rules; The Day President Reagan Was Shot

Vaccine passports are already being adopted in some countries. The United States isn’t one of them yet, but the White House is considering the issue. A passport means proof of COVID-19 immunization would be required to enter some venues and, increasingly, airplanes. This week, we explore the many thorny medical, practical, and ethical issues surrounding the question of vaccine passports.

Three guests help us understand these complicated issues: Gerald Commissiong, the CEO of Todos Medical; Dr. Sarah Chan, Chancellor’s Fellow in Ethics and Science Communicator at the University of Edinburgh; and Jeff Price, a top expert in aviation security and airport management.

Our next story looks at how things are going three months since hospitals were supposed to start posting their prices online to help consumers shop around and not be shocked when the bill comes. According to our guests, things aren’t going exactly as planned. We’re joined by David Balat, the Director of Right on Healthcare with the Texas Public Policy Foundation; and Seth Denson, co-founder of GDP advisors and author of “The Cure: A Blueprint for Solving America’s Healthcare Crisis.”

Finally, March 30 marks 40 years since the failed assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan. We go back to that fateful day in 1981 with our guest Craig Shirly, a presidential historian and author of four books on President Reagan.

And of course, we have America Q&A! This week, we ask Americans across the country two important questions: (1) If you could ask President Joe Biden anything, what would it be? (2) Do you think children in America are getting a good education?
