One of Paris’s most well-known churches is celebrating one hundred years since its consecration.

Perched at the highest point in Paris, this Montmartre church is the perfect place to look out at the city. A glance at its history suggests the building itself was made to watch over the city’s residents.

This year, the Sacre Coeur (prununce sa-cray kur) Church celebrated 100 years since its consecration. Its name means “Holy heart” and it’s dedicated to Jesus.
