Seven thousand cities in 172 countries across the world shut off the lights for one hour on March 25 for the 10th anniversary of Earth Hour, a symbolic shutdown to highlight climate change and energy use.

Australia’s Sydney Harbor Bridge and the Sydney Opera House were blacked out for the event.

Taiwan’s iconic skyscraper Taipei 101 was shut off for an hour. In Shanghai, Pearl Tower and surrounding buildings went dark.

In the Philippines, “Star Wars” fans marched through the blacked-out business  district armed with toy lightsabers, showing their willingness to be heroes for the environment.
