“Thor: Ragnarok’s” Tom Hiddleston spoke about what makes the third Thor film so special. He spoke with MTV International to a reporter who also has an English accent. Tom mentioned new cast members and a director with a unique vision. He gave the interview while doing promotion for “Kong: Skull Island,” the current No. 1 movie at the box office.

He is happy about coming back to reprise his role as Loki, a character last seen in “Thor: The Dark World.” At the end of that movie it wasn’t clear if Loki had finally turned good, or was just using the perceived change as a ploy to cause further trouble. “Ragnarok” should answer that.

Hiddleston mentioned the four new “Thor” movie cast members who are also new to the Marvel Universe: Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban, and Tessa Thompson. When pressed by the reporter, he remembered that his current Kong cast member, Brie Larson, will also appear in Marvel movies. She will become the live action Captain Marvel of the comic books, the Carol Danvers version of Captain Marvel.

Larson said that neither Samuel L. Jackson nor Hiddleston mentioned anything about her new Marvel role to her. Jackson also wasn’t clear if he will even be returning in the upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War.” He was conspicuously absent in “Captain America: Civil War.” The end of “Captain America: Winter Soldier” was accompanied by him mentioning he will travel to take care of some unfinished business. He then came back for “Avengers: age of Ultron,” but hasn’t been seen since, though there are still two more movies to go before his contract is up. It was believed he would be in the next two Avengers movies.

Thor, Loki, Valkyrie, Hela, Hulk, and perhaps a bunch more will join this unique Marvel experiment that had early on been branded an intergalactic road trip comedy. That description fits nicely into a movie that has perhaps received a lot of influence from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” brand of space adventure laughs.

In his current hit film, “Kong,” Hiddleston plays a mysterious former British military man hired to lead a group to find the infamous King Kong. Hiddleston is also dominating the small screen. He won a Golden Globe this year for his performance on TV show “The Night Manager.”

Tom was a Marvel standout since the first Thor movie for his portrayal of Loki. That film contained somewhat of a Loki origin story. It is also currently believed he will appear in the next two Avengers movies, but first fans have to figure out whether Tom Hiddleston is hero or villain come “Thor: Ragnarok.”
