Thousands Protest Against Taiwan Parliament Reforms

Thousands of Taiwanese protesters took to the streets near Taiwan’s parliament on Tuesday, protesting against the lawmaking body and seeking more oversight on the new administration.

The opposition Kuomintang party is also pushing for increased oversight. It wants more power to scrutinize the government, but the ruling Democratic Progressive Party is accusing the opposition of forcing through proposals without consultation.
