The zookeepers in Hefei, China already have experience with host mothers for their tiger cubs in need. This time they have found a dog who can breastfeed the small tiger babies when their natural mother was not able to produce enough milk. These cute little tiger cubs are dependent on their mother’s milk, so this dog is in essence saving their young lives.
Right from when these tiger babies first saw the light of day, zookeepers in Hefei, China, enlisted this dog to help out caring for them. The video was recorded when these newborn tiger babies were not even a single day old.
Just last year, a similar situation happened, where another dog was able to help out with breastfeeding newborn tiger babies.
