TikTok and Antisemitic Bias: How China’s Communist Regime Is ‘Putting Their Thumb on the Scale’ of What You See

TikTok users have recently drawn attention to the preponderance of pro-Hamas and anti-Israel content on the platform, raising questions about a potential antisemitic bias on the China-based social media app.

The platform has been criticized many times in the past for its close ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and for promoting questionable content. NTD spoke to Andrew Selepak, a social media professor at the University of Florida, to find out more about how ingrained human biases can be encouraged by apps such as TikTok.

He also speaks about his concerns regarding the CCP’s control of ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, and what this ultimately means for users when it comes to content depicting the Hamas terrorist organization.
