Time-lapse captures the late season snowstorm as it hit New York City late Monday (March 13) night and into Tuesday (March 14).

Snow plows from the city’s department of sanitation, as announced City Mayor Bill de Blasio, worked continuously to keep streets clear.

A blizzard swept through the heavily populated northeastern United States on Tuesday, grounding flights, canceling classes and pummeling those who ventured out onto snow-bound streets.

The National Weather Service sharply dialed back forecasts for some areas, notably New York City, where residents had been warned to steel themselves for potentially record-breaking snow.
