The man who drove a car into pedestrians in Times Square was charged with murder late Thursday. Richard Rojas is a 26 year-old resident of the Bronx. He is being charged with five counts of aggravated vehicular homicide.
Police said Rojas intentionally plowed into two dozen people. A young woman died at the scene, and 20 others were injured. Three people remain in critical condition.
One of the three, a 38-year-old woman from Canada, was in very critical condition, chief of Manhattan South Detectives Bill Aubry told a news conference. Aubry said results of drug tests on Rojas were expected in the next few days.
