Touching music played by Handpan, a UFO-shaped instrument

Ever wondered how this UFO-shaped musical instrument can produce such beautiful music?

“Once in a while, you stumble across a random serendipitous treasure… Ignacio is such a treasure,” writes the author who recorded and uploaded the clip on her Facebook page.

This mult-talented musician, Ignacio Rodriguez, based in the Sacred Valley in Peru, plays this unique and alluring music on the musical instrument called handpan.

The handpan, originally called the hang, was invented by a company in Switzerland in 2001. It is a convex steel drum played with hands and tuned with multiple notes.

Enjoy the performance and take a look at this peculiar instrument!
