Toyota-supported engineers are working on a flying car. They are preparing it for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. They hope it can drive, fly, and light the Olympic torch.
The Cartivator team has received basic funding. With progress, it expects more. The engineers started the project in 2014, through crowdfunding. Toyota has since taken over funding duties. It needs a working prototype by 2018’s end.
