A new International Monetary Fund report says the dollar has lost its share as a global reserve currency.

It says this is a result of central banks around the world diversifying their holdings, including into the Chinese yuan and other currencies of smaller countries.

China is reportedly talking to Saudi Arabia about buying oil with Chinese yuan, to sidestep the dollar.

Meanwhile, the U.S. freeze on Russia’s dollar reserves might have shaken other countries’ confidence about the U.S. dollar.

NTD spoke with energy expert Tracy Shuchart and Gal Luft, author of “De-dollarization,” about the topic.
