Tree kangaroos may become extinct without conservation measures

Did you know several animals besides kangaroos have pouches, such as the Tasmanian Devil. In this video a tree kangaroo mother climbing and feasting on trees, carrying her baby kangaroo everywhere with her in her pouch.

It is super cute how the baby sits in the pouch mimicking the mother’s way of eating food. Tree kangaroos have adapted perfectly to life on top of trees. They have unique macropods, so that their arms and legs are about the same length, and excessive hunting and destruction of their habitat have forced the species of tree kangaroos close to extinction.

Instead of having long legs like their close cousins, tree kangaroos have developed stronger forelimbs so that they can easily climb and live among and atop the trees they inhabit.
