A tractor-trailer filled with candy crashed on Route 27 in Mahwah, New Jersey, according to reports.

The footage shows the truck turning over on its side before hitting the median in a plume of smoke.

The Mahwah Police Department released the footage on Aug. 28.

The driver of the candy-filled truck had been aggressively changing lanes, the Mahwah-Ramsey Daily Voice reported.

The dashcam video “underscores the dangers of an increasing trend of road-rage incidents,” Police Chief James N. Batelli told the publication.

No one was seriously injured in the incident, the report said.

The driver of a gray colored SUV “observed what he believed to be a tractor-trailer [driver] driving in an aggressive manner and changing lanes in a reckless manner,” the chief said. The SUV driver “decided to take the matter in his own hands and slow the tractor-trailer down to prevent any type of accident,” he added

Batelli said the tractor-trailer driver that the SUV driver cut in front of him and applied his brakes forcing him to slam his brakes.

“Miraculously no other vehicles struck the tractor, which could have resulted in a major accident event,” Batelli said.

He added that it‘s fortunate that “no one was injured in this accident and that the substance he was carrying did not contain any hazardous or combustible materials.”

The truck driver, a 36-year-old, was cited for careless driving, failure to maintain lane, and failure to signal. The SUV driver got summonses for reckless driving, failure to maintain lanes, failure to signal, and delaying traffic, according to the Daily Voice.
