President Donald Trump ripped into the Democratic party on May 23, claiming they’ve “become known as THE DO NOTHING PARTY!”

Trump took to Twitter to deliver his analysis of the opposition.

“The Democrats are getting nothing done in Congress. All of their effort is about a Re-Do of the Mueller Report, which didn’t turn out the way they wanted. It is not possible for them to investigate and legislate at the same time,” he wrote.

Multiple Congressional committees have launched probes into Trump and are trying to dig up incriminating financial information about the president. Democrats have demanded documents from Trump’s former accounting firm, the government, and banks he has used. Federal judges ruled this week that the accounting firm and two banks must hand over records to Congress while the Treasury Department is blocking the release of Trump’s tax returns.

Trump on Thursday morning called the probes “a pure fishing expedition.”

“All they are geared up to do, six committees, is squander time, day after day, trying to find anything which will be bad for me,” he said.

The missives came a day after the president cut short a meeting with Democratic leaders that was meant to focus on infrastructure.

Trump informed the leaders, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), that he would not work with them until they stopped the investigations into his past.

At a press conference he explained his decision that Democrats will never be satisfied, noting the two-year-long probe by special counsel Robert Mueller that failed to turn up evidence of conspiracy or cooperation between his campaign and Russia.

Democratic leaders and most legacy media outlets pushed the conspiracy theory that Trump and Russia colluded to win the 2016 presidential election after he shocked the nation by defeating former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. A number of outlets have since become openly anti-Trump while Democrats have appeared to focus more on opposing him than passing legislation.

“I walked into the room and I told Leader Schumer and Speaker Pelosi I want to do infrastructure,” Trump said. “But you know what, we can’t do it under these circumstances. So get these phony investigations over.”

Pelosi told reporters that she went into the meeting ready to work with Trump. However, just hours prior she had emerged from a meeting with House Democrats to address growing calls within the party for impeachment claiming that Trump “is engaged in a cover-up.”

After Trump exited the meeting, Pelosi told reporters: “For some reason, maybe it was lack of confidence on his part. … he just took a pass. In any event, I pray for the president of the United States.”

Trump later responded on Twitter: “Democrat leadership is tearing the United States apart, but I will continue to set records for the American People—and Nancy, thank you so much for your prayers, I know you truly mean it!”
