President Donald Trump talked about his upcoming visit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping Tuesday, April 4.
The president was talking about business with a group of CEOs when he mentioned his upcoming meeting, this Thursday and Friday, at his Mar-a-Lago resort at Palm Beach, Florida.
The president said he thought they’d have “a very interesting talk.”
Trump said that he and Xi needed to work out the U.S.-China trade deficit, which stands at $504 billion per year.
“That’s enough for a lifetime,” Trump commented.
While campaigning Trump pledged to get tough on China for its alleged currency manipulation.
The rate of exchange makes Chinese goods more attractive to Americans than U.S. goods to Chinese shoppers.
Trump also pledged to raise the somewhat thorny issue of North Korea with the Chinese leader.
Trump called North Korea “a humanity problem.”
