President Donald Trump paused his Missouri rally after a woman fainted on Nov. 5.
During the approximately 8-minute break, the crowd began singing “Amazing Grace.”
Trump was speaking when he noticed something had gone wrong.
“Is there a doctor in the house, please? Doctor? Please. Thank you,” Trump said, pointing toward a portion of the crowd in Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau.

Amazing Grace
Trump told the medical staff to take their time as he stepped away from the podium and stopped talking. He did return to tell the crowd to “say a little prayer,” and soon after members began singing “Amazing Grace.”
After the rendition, the crowd broke into applause.
The woman was eventually taken away for treatment and a person in a suit signaled to the president that she would be fine.
“That was really something,” Trump said, stepping back up to the podium and giving the audience two thumbs up. “I want to just thank everybody for the way you behaved. That was beautiful. ‘Amazing Grace,’ thank you very much. Hopefully, she’ll be okay.”

Rallies
It wasn’t clear what exactly the woman was treated for, but she was described in news reports as “elderly.” She was taken away on a stretcher and briefly seen by cameras as men hoisted the stretcher off the ground, with her head resting on a pillow.
Trump held three campaign rallies on Nov. 5, the day before the midterm elections, and 11 over the past six days leading up to the Nov. 6 midterms.
In Missouri, he campaigned for Josh Hawley, Missouri’s attorney general, who is seeking to unseat incumbent Democrat Sen. Claire McCaskill.

On Tuesday, President Trump planned to monitor the races across the country.
“After 11 rallies in 8 states and weeks of campaigning for Republican candidates, the president will spend today making phone calls, monitoring Congressional, Senate, and Gubernatorial races across the country and meeting with his political team for real-time updates,” Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement.
“Later this evening, the president and first lady have invited family and friends to join them in the residence as they watch election returns.”
