Trump Says He Went Through ‘Very Routine Physical’

During a cabinet meeting at the White House on Nov. 19, President Donald Trump shed light on recent claims that his recent, unscheduled visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center was because of a heart attack.

Trump explained that First Lady Melania Trump and some of his staff members expressed concern about his health, based on media reports about his trip to the hospital on Saturday.

“I went for a physical. I came back, and my wife said, ‘Darling, are you OK? … They are reporting you may have had a heart attack.’” Trump said.

The trip wasn’t part of the president’s public schedule, which means it didn’t follow standard White House protocol for physicals. Usually, that includes advance public notice.

“Did a very routine physical, visited the family of a young soldier who was very badly injured. He was in the operating room,” Trump said. “I toured the hospital for a little while. I was out of there very quickly and got back home.”

Trump said that the speculative reports showed that the media is corrupt and dangerous.
