A Trump supporter grabbed the mic at a Bernie Sanders campaign event in Iowa, praising President Trump and telling Sanders that socialism does not work before he was escorted out.
Sanders was speaking at a town hall meeting in Burlington, Iowa, on Dec. 14. During the Q&A section of the event, the unidentified man was given the microphone.
“Oh, he’s looking at his phone. I’m in trouble,” Sanders (I-Vt.) said, jokingly.
The man took the microphone, but instead of posing a question he had a message for President Trump: “Mr. Trump, keep going, man. You’re doing a good job,” he said, the Daily Wire reported.
“You know what, I’m a liberal,” he continued. “I don’t agree with anything you say. I used to. I voted for you in 2016,” he said, referring to Sanders. “And I’ve been to Vietnam and seen what socialism has done. It’s destroyed my wife’s country.”
People started to laugh and boo, but the man, undaunted, continued. “Yeah, you can laugh all you want,” he said, “when they’re putting you in concentration camps.”
“You can laugh all you want,” he shouted. “Donald Trump is helping our country, alright. He’s a good man… socialism does not work.”
Then Sanders tried to hush down the commotion saying it’s okay for people to express their beliefs, but “just don’t disrupt the meeting,” and, “Thank you for your contribution to the discussion.”
“Socialism doesn’t work! Socialism doesn’t work!” the man shouted, while police officers approached him and Sanders supporters yelled, “Get him out of here.” He was then escorted out of the venue.
Bernie Sanders Campaign Staff Kicks Out Conservative Journalist and Brands Her White Supremacist
Kaitlin Bennett, best known as the Kent State Gun Girl—a nickname she received after a photo of her at her graduation posing with an AR-10 rifle went viral—was expelled from the Bernie Sanders campaign stop in Lordstown, Ohio, on April 14.
Since her graduation, Bennett has been speaking out for conservative causes, which earned her a position as a reporter for the InfoWars.com website.
I am a conservative journalist and was just ejected from a @BernieSanders rally for expressing my 1st amendment. I was just sitting there and was told I had to leave, with no reason given except that his campaign didn’t want me there. THIS is actual fascism. pic.twitter.com/iyaMwAHMMU

She decided to show up at the rally, since it was advertised as a public event, only to find out it was invitation only. After she sat in her chair, a security guard approached her and asked her to leave.
Bennet told WFMJ, an NBC affiliate in Youngstown, Ohio, “I asked them, did I violate any rules, did I do anything, am I a disturbance? I was just scrolling on Facebook. They simply didn’t want me there, because they know who I am, and I believe, that event was staged. They had plants in the audience who were supposed to ask the questions. Bernie was scripted with the responses, and they didn’t want anyone else to try and ask questions,” said Bennett.
