President Donald Trump will host the MLB’s Washington Nationals at the White House on Nov. 4, according to an administration official.
Judd Deere, White House deputy press secretary, announced the plan on Friday.
The visit will come five days after the Nationals beat the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the World Series.
It was the Nationals’ first championship. The team has a parade planned in the nation’s capital on Saturday.

The president appeared at Game 5, cheering Washington along with a group of Republican lawmakers. Some members of the crowd booed Trump, prompting criticism from both sides of the aisle.
Champions in major sports leagues are often invited to the White House. Some teams have declined invitations or have not been invited after signaling they wouldn’t go, including the NBA’s Golden State Warriors and the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles.
Teams that have visited the White House include the NFL’s New England Patriots, the MLB’s Boston Red Sox, and the NHL’s Washington Capitals.
The Red Sox, last year’s MLB winner, visited in May but some players chose not to join their teammates.
