What does the term “America First” mean? Former President Donald Trump used and continues to use the term a lot. It has many implications and invites a wide range of viewpoints, with some commentators suggesting it’s an isolationist approach to foreign policy. But that may not be the most accurate description.

Josh Hammer, senior editor-at-large at Newsweek, contributor to The Epoch Times, and a research fellow with the Edmund Burke Foundation, explains to NTD that “America First” is a pragmatic, realist, and sober approach to foreign and public policy—and not an isolationist one.
