E. Jean Carroll’s civil damages trial against former President Donald Trump is expected to resume in Manhattan federal court. Ms. Carroll, a former Elle magazine columnist, is seeking at least $10 million for defamation and sexual assault, following Trump’s June 2019 denials related to an alleged encounter in a department store dressing room in the mid-1990s. President Trump has said he wants to testify. The trial will be held at 8:30 a.m. ET on Jan. 22.
