Prime Minister Liz Truss was set to meet King Charles Friday ahead of his address to the nation. Speaking in the House of Commons, she paid tribute to the queen and offered her loyal service to the king. She called Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II “one of the greatest leaders the world has ever known.”
Former prime ministers Boris Johnson and Theresa May could both be seen on the backbenches, listening to their successor’s tribute. Opposition Leader Sir Keir Starmer also paid tribute to the Queen.
